Installation

Install one canonical copy

Smart Breeze’s background-service registration is tied to the physical app. Keep exactly one complete copy in Applications.

Install Smart Breeze

  1. Confirm that your Mac and intended use match the compatibility page.
  2. Download Smart-Breeze-0.3.13-24-macos-arm64.dmg from the Smart Breeze public beta download page.
  3. If /Applications/Breeze.app is still installed, open that copy, select System, confirm macOS owns the fans, and turn off Open Breeze at login.
  4. Quit every older Breeze copy. Do not leave Breeze.app and Smart Breeze.app running together.
  5. Open the signed DMG and drag Smart Breeze.app to /Applications. Do not replace Breeze.app in place, and never choose Keep Both.
  6. Move /Applications/Breeze.app to the Trash without emptying it.
  7. Eject the DMG, then open only /Applications/Smart Breeze.app.
  8. Click the fan icon in the menu bar and choose Open Dashboard.
Important

Do not run Smart Breeze from the DMG, Downloads, iCloud Drive, a build folder, or a file-provider location. Duplicate bundles such as Smart Breeze 2.app can leave macOS pointing at the wrong app.

Enable fan control

Monitoring does not require administrator access. The first Smart Boost, Max, or Manual action explains the risk and begins helper setup. macOS may ask you to approve Smart Breeze under System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Allow in the Background.

macOS remains in control until setup and verification finish. Turn on Open Smart Breeze at login only after the copy in /Applications is running.

Verify authenticity

The current public beta DMG is Developer ID-signed, notarized, and stapled. If macOS presents an unexpected signature or unidentified-developer warning, stop and obtain a fresh copy instead of bypassing Gatekeeper.
