Check your Mac before enabling fan control
Requires an Apple-silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later. Build 24 continues read-only temperature discovery when a Mac has no fan-count key and shows validated readings in a sensor explorer. Physical fan control remains enabled only on the exact model identifier Mac16,7.
Available behavior
Sensor labels are aggregate categories derived from known AppleSMC keys, not Apple-supported sensor metadata. CPU, GPU, memory, or battery categories can be unavailable on a particular model. If a selected sensor is unavailable, Smart Breeze labels the fallback and uses the hottest available reading.
Sensor availability is model- and build-specific. A successful download and installation do not prove that Build 24 can read temperatures on that Mac. An empty sensor explorer is an unavailable result, not a zero-degree reading.

Find your model identifier
Choose Apple menu → About This Mac → More Info → System Report, then look for Model Identifier. Advanced users can also run:

The current public beta is free for everyone. Accepted fan-control or fanless sensor-compatibility testers who complete Smart Breeze’s assigned hardware-testing plan receive one complimentary personal license for the first paid full release when it launches. Applying, joining the waitlist, or confirming an email address alone does not qualify.

A model is added only after its complete write, readback, rollback, sleep/wake, helper-failure, and System-handoff paths pass physical testing. A similar name or matching-looking SMC keys is not enough.
Owners of fan-equipped Apple-silicon Macs can apply through the Hardware Testing Beta page. Applications are open, but access is staged by exact model identifier. A signup never bypasses the hardware gate in the public build.
If your Mac is not the exact Mac16,7 model, disabled fan writes in the public build are intentional. They are not a connection problem to bypass. Temperature availability is separate and can vary by model and build.
